Acupuncture for IVF – How it can help You

Acupuncture for IVF

Acupuncture for IVF  has been proven time and time again to increase your odds of success.  Numerous scientific studies published by the most prestigious journals in the field of reproductive medicine have shown again and again that acupuncture before and during these interventions improves outcomes.  These increased success rates are especially evident in cases where the patient has already undergone  one or more IVF cycles where there has not been implantation (see how we treat this issue)     For example, this study, shows how women have had increased success when they incorporate acupuncture into their treatment after having previously unsuccessful cycles.

How is it done?

Acupuncture for IVF is a comfortable process whereby small filaments are inserted in the skin.  Occasionally you can feel a slight prick when the filaments are inserted. The sensation is nothing like that of an injection because the filaments are not thick and hollow but thin and solid. Find out more here.

Improve your well being

Acupuncture for IVF is an excellent complimentary treatment to fertility interventions. Procedures such as IVF and IUI are quite effective but they often view the patient as simply a uterus and a pair of ovaries and not in their totality.   It has been shown in studies that the patient´s emotional state, sleep and blood flow all affect the outcomes of these interventions. Here are a few of these studies:

The IVF and IUI process can be physically and emotionally stressful and overwhelming.   Acupuncture can help with this as it has been scientifically proven to lower stress levels and stress hormones which can negatively effect the IVF/IUI process.  You can see some of these studies below:

The relaxing effects of acupuncture also make the entire process, which is very stressful, much easier to handle.
